Fees

I accept most Aetna (excluding Duke Select or Aetna CVS), Cigna, and Optum plans for services, pending approval of coverage by your insurance company. Using insurance requires that I give you a diagnosis and share that information with your insurance plan. I have partnered with Alma to provide services for these plans, and they will handle all billing matters. You can find me in the Alma directory, and schedule a 15 minute consult to see if we seem like a fit. Your insurance will be confirmed, and any copays, coinsurance or other stipulations of your plan will be clarified within one to two business days.

Verify I am in-network with your plan by entering your information here: Alma insurance verification. You will be notified in about one business day.

Payment is required in full at time of visit, for private pay or insurance clients. Visa/MasterCard/Discover accepted.

If you are not able to use your insurance for services, I can provide a superbill to provide to your insurance, which will require that I assign a diagnosis. Please check your insurance to confirm your benefits. You might call and ask them if they cover the code 90837 (53+ minute/hour individual psychotherapy session) or 90834 (38-52 minute/45 minute individual psychotherapy session) for out-of-network providers.

I am not an approved and registered out-of-network provider for BCBS State Health Plan or any other state health plan participating in the North Carolina Health Information Exchange, and those insurances will not reimburse for out-of-network services with me.

Safe and Sound Protocol

I am a certified provider of the Safe and Sound Protocol, which is a listening therapy (www.whatisthessp.com). Most clients start the treatment initially with me in session, and then will move to doing it both remotely and in session, for a total of 5 hours of treatment. This protocol includes access to client treatment app and specialized software and resources. I will also gather assessment information before and after treatment, and two months later, as well as monitor progress between sessions. Some clients are able to complete the program in one month, others may take two to three months, or longer. The length of time depends on individual client needs and will be discussed prior to beginning the protocol.

Due to the extra time spent monitoring this protocol outside of our sessions, evaluating assessment measures, and the cost of licensing fees for access to the protocol, there are additional fees, for which insurance will not cover or reimburse:

Access to the initial protocol, SSP Connect and SSP Core, monitoring, assessment and follow up, with in-session delivery support: $150 per month

Access to the initial protocol, SSP Connect and SSP Core, monitoring, assessment and follow up, with in-session delivery support and brief co-listening support between sessions: $150 per month, plus $75 per 15 minutes of co-listening (scheduled for 30 minutes of support time).

Upon completion of the SSP Core program, access to the SSP Balance program to support ongoing wellbeing, at home listening, therapist monitoring between sessions: $50 per month

Complete list of fees available at intake and are included in my detailed practice forms as a Good Faith Estimate of charges, as part of the No Surprises Act (cms.gov/nosurprises). Fees depend on length of session.
